PANIPAT

PANIPAT is a town in the state of Haryana in India. It is situated 53 m. north of Delhi and is headqurter of the district of the same name.

This town was the scene of two decisive battles, one in 1526 to the establishment of the Mogul dynasty at Delhi, and another in 1701 to the extinction of the Mahratta supremacy in North-West India.
